Roots to Shoots Horticultural Services established in 2003, provide fully trained staff knowledgeable within their respective area of expertise, who strive to deliver a high quality, bespoke service to all their clients. Over the past ten years Roots to Shoots Horticultural Services have undertaken all types of horticultural works from Weed Control services to Design & Build and more… see ‘Our Services’ for more information.

 

Richard Coomber founder of Roots to Shoots Horticultural Services took the decision in 2003 to re-train as a professional gardener after having had a successful career within the engineering industry. He attended Brinsbury Campus (Now part of Chichester College) Pulborough where he undertook formal horticultural training. Richard studied a full range of courses, both as a day student and also studied at night school; for which he obtained both City & Guilds and Royal Horticultural Society Horticultural qualifications (see below)

Roots to Shoots Horticultural Services have been vetted and approved by Trading Standards under the Buy With Confidence members scheme.

Q. How much will it cost?

A. Every job is different. Following your site visit, you will receive a written estimate or quotation for the work you have asked to be carried out. If there are additional items you wish to add on the day, then please discuss them and these will be priced in addition on a per item basis and added to the bill.

Q. How long will it take?

A. Following receipt of initial inquiry Roots to Shoots Horticultural Services will aim to make contact within 48hrs to discuss your specifics requirements. A day/time convenient to you to visit site will be agreed. Once scope of works is fully established Roots to Shoots Horticultural Services will provide you with a timeline for completion of works.
Please note: Completion timelines could be subject to change due to weather conditions, but please be assured where these instances may occur Roots to Shoots Horticultural Services will work with the client to ensure changes necessary are made known at the earliest opportunity.

Q. Are you able to take waste away from site?

A. RTS Horticulture Limited is registered as a lower tier waste carrier with the Environment Agency. Registration number: CBDL35040

Q. What if it is raining or the weather is bad?

A. We work in all weathers, unless of course it has an impact on our working safety or ability to complete work to our normal high standards

Q. How do we pay you?

A. On completion of the job via bacs(preferred option) or cheque. You receive an invoice on completion of works

Q. Are you insured?

A. YES! For your peace of mind Roots to Shoots Horticultural Services have £5,000,000 Public Liability Insurance, £5,000,000 Product Liability Insurance and £10,000,000 Employers Liability Insurance. ASK to see ALL Insurance documentation when getting prices.

1. Payment is due within 30 days of invoice. Prompt payment is expected.2. All bank charges (e.g. bounced cheques) caused by the client will be charged for.

3. The contractor will not accept liability for any acts of vandalism, theft, or accidental damage to his work unless caused by the contractor or his employees.

4. The contractor will not accept liability for damage to services e.g. gas, water, drainage, electricity and telephone unless the positions of these have been clearly and accurately indicated to the contractor by the client on a suitable sketch-plan before work on the contract commences.

5. The contractor will not accept liability for delays caused by strikes, lock-outs, labour disputes, accidents, nesting birds, bats, or any other cause beyond the control of the contractor.

6. Work will only be commenced following receipt of a written acceptance of the Quotation and the Terms & Conditions of contract.

7. The client is responsible for informing his neighbours of all work, to his property or boundaries, which might be of concern to them, and to obtain their consent before work starts.
